How to Apply

All applicants are required to complete a brief questionnaire describing previous French language studies (if any), any accommodation requirements and anticipated travel arrangements.  This will help place you in an appropriate level course as well as with a suitable local family.

Please have the following information on hand when applying:

If you are eligible for the Explore bursary, please apply (online, followed by a paper copy) before the deadline.  Bursaries are awarded by random draw at the end of March and if you have been awarded the bursary you will be notified by both your provincial coordinator and by Western University.

Step One

Apply online for an Explore Bursary by February 15.

Step Two

Send a paper copy of your application (signed and sealed by your institution) to your Provincial Coordinator, post-marked no later than February 15. The Coordinator's address will be listed on the cover page.

Western Students must bring their paper application to Student Central on Main Campus (WSS 1120) to obtain the necessary signature and seal of the University.  This signed and sealed form, along with proof of citizenship (or permanent residency) may then be brought to the French Immersion School office (UCC 47) for mailing.

Step Three

Wait for the draw results. The results are usually known at the end of March. You will receive an email from Explore. If you are awarded a bursary to Trois-Pistoles, you will automatically receive registration information via email from the French Immersion School. (You might be put on a waiting list. If so, we will contact you as soon as your name appears on the list).
