Everyday French is a unique way to improve your French skills and learn more about Quebecois culture. Take a virtual trip to Trois-Pistoles and improve your French while exploring the culture. This self-directed online course will cover everyday vocabulary and activities to help you master the basics or brush up on your existing skills. 

The Everyday French course content is designed for beginner and intermediate level participants (placement test score below 57%). Before registering, take our online placement test to see if this course is suited to your current abilities.  

This course applies towards our Certificate in French Essentials!



What to Expect

Start any time after the course opens. This is an Online: Paced course, and you can set your own schedule with the suggested timelines and due dates provided. Start anytime and study as much or as little as you want from week to week, completing the coursework at your own pace. Listen and practice speaking. Build your confidence communicating in typical daily interactions while training your ears for the accents you will hear in Quebec.

Interactive quizzes will help you appreciate all that you have learned as well as what you may need to review before your next adventure in French. 

Depending on your level of experiences with French, you can expect to take 10 to 15 hours to complete the course.

Practice speaking as you move through the course

Live virtual sessions, facilitated by an instructor, will be offered for students who are looking to practice their French listening and speaking skills with their classmates.

Topics include:

  • Language for daily interactions;
  • Pronunciation;
  • Quebecois culture.

Admission Requirements

  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of French (placement test score below 57%)
  • Advanced participants looking to brush up on their skills are welcome to enroll as well
